Bandai Gashapon

Gashapon are popular Japanese capsule toys and the vending machines that dispense them. Launched by the toy manufacturer Bandai in 1977, the name comes from combining two Japanese onomatopoeias: gasha (or gacha), for the hand-cranking action of the machine, and pon, for the sound the capsule makes when it drops.
